Today, as some of you are aware, Rebuilt Records announced it will be closing its doors on August 1st. I am saddened by this news. Jason Harwell has been a brother to me and I’m thankful for his willingness to take a chance on me and my music. He will always be a dear friend along with the other artists that made up the label. For more on this feel free to read on Rebuilt’s website.
What does this mean for my music? Well, I’m an independent artist again. I’m not held by any strings (not that Rebuilt was over-bearing by any means) and I’m looking forward to exploring options for releasing music in the future and how to do that in a way that will only further my career. It seems as though the way be these days in the music industry is independent. The business is changing and making music is not what it used to be. I’m not about to complain about the changing music business. If anything, I’m excited about a new frontier of making music and how to set that music free in a way that it will find as many listening ears as possible.
So, in summary…
Here comes the sun…
Here comes the sun…
I say, “It’s alright.”
or, maybe closer to home…
We went our different ways
when I crossed the interstate
He said, “Son, I’ll see you soon…
maybe we’ll sing a song or two.”
You’ve got time…
hope all is well on your side of the screen.
