Intro

Jonfer C. Wolf is a singer/songwriter guitarist and instrumentalist based in the Netherlands. His solo music is based on spacious yet intimate acoustic guitar and a dark and vunerable vocal embellished with sonic textures reminiscent of The Notwist, Gravenhurst and Tunng.

Wolf's career began with classical guitar and early folk influences such as Nick Drake, Bert Jansch and early Elliot Smith. The early nineties alternative scene and the jarring dissonance of My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and The Smashing Pumpkins then provided a lasting inspiration, along with later influences such as Portishead and releases from the Ninja Tune label.

In the early 00's he formed the band Code Orange, which explored an intriguing mix of folk and triphop. After a promising start including a debut at Paradiso in Amsterdam and the finals of a prestigious contest, the band folded. Jonfer took a break from writing and recording and considered his musical direction and influences before returning to the studio with a more intimate and personal style.

Going back to his earliest folk influences he based new material around more heartfelt and darker songs stripped down and acoustic guitar based. This collection of songs represent the work of a young artist expressing with simplicity and honesty the assurance and intimacy of a spiritual and personal journey. Enjoy.
