“Incomplete and Insecure” - The Avett Brothers
I’ve been thinking a lot this morning. About this song and how much I relate. How much I relate on your behalf too. I’ve been thinking about hours of madness and how they can even bubble plum into the middle of a pleasant week. Not melancholy - pure lucid fearless madness. Like a drop of water into hot soup; Relevant for the seconds it takes to fall – then absorbed. I’ve been thinking about planning a trip; Bought a book on Burma a few weeks ago and I wonder if it is still too close. That field of temples looks like the kind of place a girl could disappear. Had a bad dream last night, stumbled out toward the arms of waking life, a happy comfort. And that made me smile. Not every morning feels better than dreams. He blew up his phone over Christmas, literally, and calls all the wrong people until he remembers my right number. The only number in the phone and this makes me laugh. I’ve been thinking about L with her gilded energy and vibrating desire to rip life from its own bones and frame it into something beautiful and how men must want to cage her forever. I’ve been thinking about the desert and the chipping fingernails I painted pink to make my mother smile and the back of boys’ motorcycles in Africa. I’ve been thinking that, actually, not very much is impossible.
I haven’t finished a thing since I started my life,
Don’t feel much like starting now.
Walking out lonely has worked like a charm,
I’m the only one I have to let down.
But watching you makes me think that that is wrong. My first Avetts show of 2010 (I have 3 planned so far) will be in 4 days. Wahoo!

Something doesn’t look right…
The United States spends more on medical care per person than any country, yet life expectancy is shorter than in most other developed nations and many developing ones. Lack of health insurance is a factor in life span and contributes to an estimated 45,000 deaths a year. Why the high cost? The U.S. has a fee-for-service system—paying medical providers piecemeal for appointments, surgery, and the like. That can lead to unneeded treatment that doesn’t reliably improve a patient’s health. Says Gerard Anderson, a professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health who studies health insurance worldwide, “More care does not necessarily mean better care.”

Nick and I watched The Hangover last night. I have seen this before but this was Nick’s first time. We decided that we’re going to go to Vegas for our bachelor parties, we’re apparently going to have a double wedding? and he said that Emily and I need to get married so we can throw this bachelor party asap. Dude…
