The tour has taken us all the way north to Alaska where we played at the University of Alaska. From our hotel room we could see mountains and the sunrise at 9am. Behind us is Portage Glacier. We spent a day driving along an inlet to a town called Girdwood. We visited an animal preserve and saw elk, caribou, moose, owls, brown bear, deer, bison and a dog. I also believe I saw a spray of water from a beluga whale as we drove back toward Anchorage.
The show was great. The venue was small, as was the sound system, but the band made the best of it and won over some new fans. Alaskans are not known for their raucous behavior at concerts so we took the polite applause as confirmation that it was OK that we were performing.
We enjoyed many great restaurants and their culinary versions of halibut, elk and caribou, some of the same animals we saw at the nature preserve. We did not see Sarah Palin which was fine. I'm guessing she's somewhere in the lower 48 right now giving speeches.
Speaking of the lower 48...that's where we played last night...Gallup, NM at the El Morro Theater. A great venue and a great staff! Be sure to check out our video blogs at MYSPACE.COM/agsilver (that's who I'm touring with). Their new EP is out too...
