A NOTE FROM JUD:
Here's what happened. There was an issue with our domain name. JudK.com is NO LONGER the web site of Jud Kossum or the Jud Kossum Band. The new web site is:
If you click on the link and it doesn't work, give it some time. The site should be up and running within the next 24 hours.
You might wonder why I'm talking about JKB again after these many months. "Didn't JKB play their last show back in November with Starfield?" you may be asking. Well, yes.
But Jud Kossum Band is rising from the grave, so to speak, here in the great state of Texas. I've got a whole new lineup and new music in the works (don't worry, we'll still be playing the old stuff too). Some of you who've known me since the '90s might be excited to know that you may be seeing faces from Standing Still in the new JKB lineup - but that's all I'm going to say.
Thanks for your continued support!
Jud
Jud Kossum has always loved music. No matter where he was, what job he was doing, what state he was living in - music was the common denominator. Even from his early days, dreaming of leading a hair band in his parachute pants and ripped up T-shirt, it was obvious that music was in Jud's bones - in the depths of his Spirit & soul. He's graduated now, (without the hair, the pants, or the holey T-shirts) to a real stage with a real band, real instruments...and a real message.
Jud and the band now use this stage, this platform, to not only entertain fans with amazing musicianship and incredible lyrics - but to confront them with a raw, real, transparent faith. "Because we've forgotten about relationships, the church sometimes becomes a legalistic country club where we have to 'look the part,' and totally fails to engage the upcoming generations." Jud Kossum Band understands that these generations are seeking genuine relationship, not skin-deep religion. The honesty and clarity of their music convey that wisdom.
On their new EP Spark, Jud Kossum Band combines inventive pop/rock melodies with heartfelt, passionate lyrics about the struggle to be more than we are and God's grace to meet us where we are. Songs like the emotionally honest "Making Me" and the fun, upbeat "Take this Life" beautifully express that longing to be more and the sometimes painful process of becoming who we were meant to be. Songs like "Sound of Your Voice" and "The Truth" display an authentic love for God and His word with a creativity and musicianship that truly bring Glory to Him. Spark is an experience in worship and authenticity.
"We have to be real with each other. We HAVE to be real with God. He knows anyway! But we can't fully experience His love and grace and the change they bring until we allow Him into every part of us. Admit our brokenness. Admit our insecurities. Admit our weakness. His strength is perfected in it. We want to see that revolution explode. We want our music to be revolutionary - like Jesus was - we want it to speak truth, humility, honesty, relationship to this generation and the generations to come.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
