JULIE BELLE'S MUSIC IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ON MYSPACE!
Originally from the suburbs of Detroit, Julie Belle grew up in a house full of music. Julie's mother was her first piano teacher and saw it important to instill her love for music into her own children. By age four Julie was sitting down in front of the keys, and after a moment of preschool-aged determination had learned to accompany herself on the piano and began singing and performing for the church she attended. The seeds were planted and by the time Julie was in high school, she had taught herself to play acoustic guitar and had become a regular vocal guest in her brother's band. Her desire to pursue music on a more serious level lead Julie to form a band with both of her older brothers, and played at local street fairs festivals, and venues.
When the time came, it only seemed natural for Julie to go to college and study music. After a brief semester as a music major, Julie realized that class wasn't the place where she truly wanted to pursue music. Julie laughs as she recalls "The music students and professors always saw the first year as the one that weeds out the students who shouldn't be music majors. I suppose I was weeded out rather quickly." Now at age 22, Julie Belle is still pursing her dream and passion. Her love for music and her determination to create thought-provoking music is what drives her. Julie's influences range from artists like Ben Folds and Dave Barnes to jazz artists like Miles Davis and Eva Cassidy.
Currently recording for her first album, Movement, Julie Belle is moving full speed ahead towards what she loves most. Her lyrics are smart and truthful, like talking to an old friend who will always say it like it is. Julie's fluid style dodges the boundaries of genre, blending ballads with jazzy undertones, rock, and acoustic folk-pop .

Well thanks for....letting me stop by? Haha, I'm assuming you're aware that I'm not the most experienced social networker...but I'm learning. I'm enjoying your tunes, by the way. If you've got some time on your hands, be sure to criticize some of my own musical sensations. Wishin' you the best with your music career! -Jim
