Word of mouth...

I was reading in 2 Chronicles today and saw this... "When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's great fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions." I see a couple of things in this passage:

I first think it is awesome that a queen from a different land heard of Solomon - his kingdom and his wisdon - and so she came to visit. This speaks volumes to me. It tells me that what I do will stretches futher than I think. What I do affects more than just me. How I handle relationships, how I act at the grocery store, how I display work ethic, how I respond to others, returning phone calls when I say I will (ouch, I messed up on this one twice this week already); all of this important in the outcome of how people will hear about me and my testimony. This passage challenges me to stay diligent with the little things. And this, is a revelation to me considering I am usually focused on the BIG things.

Secondly, she came to test him. She straight up came to challenge what she had heard about Solomon. This reminds me that challenge will come so I need to be ready "in and out of season". This again reminds me to be diligent in the little things.

The coolest part about this story is verse 3, it says that after the queen spoke with Solomon and saw all that he had done in his kingdom she was overwhelmed. What a compliment to God.
