So I spent most of this week in Griffin, GA. And I have two more weeks out here. Lee McDerment and I are working on his new record. We aren't but a few miles from Atlanta Motor Speedway and some Nascar race is happening this weekend. Griffin is around 60,000 people and has that "out in the country" feel. Actually, other than the Atlanta Motor Speedway, there is nothing around us, so it has that "way out in the country / middle of nowhere" feel. The fact that the studio (Black Cat Studio) is out and away from everything is great, I feel like Lee and I can focus on this project without much distraction. Before I came to Newspring I was writing and rocking in a band based in Atlanta, and I have really missed the recording studio side of things. So my time in the studio this week has been refreshing. I had some reservations in doing a worship record (I will share several of those reservations later this week), but all of my reservations are melting away quickly. And I can't wait to hear the final product. Please pray it up for Lee and I and Jason, the producer, we want God to run this whole process. Well, take care friends. I hope you all have a great week.
