Eight months' wages. No, it is not a Christian band name. No, it's not a new political tax increase proposal. I came across this verse today in John 6 that was a real encouragement to me. Jesus was preaching in front of a huge group of people and he asked one of his disciples, "Where shall we buy bread for these people?" I find it interesting that he didn't say, "Tell these people to go home," or "That is too many people, we can't facilitate them." Instead, he said, how do we feed them? And Philip answered back and said, "Eight months' wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite." If you keep reading, the story tells of how Jesus fed all those people with a little boy's sack lunch.
