What do you order at Starbucks?
I used to always get the Cinnamon Dolce latte, but then I bought some Cinnamon Dolce syrup to use in the lattes I make at home, so now I totally ruined it for myself. Now I don't really have a thing I get, and usually end up being that annoying girl that stands in line for like ten minutes making up her mind.

Which animal do you wish was domesticated?
Definitely tigers...they would protect you much better than a dog in any kind of robbery situation, and you could take a nap with them without being afraid you were going to roll over and smash them like you worry about with cats.

If you could lead two simultaneous lives with two completely separate careers, what would your #2 be?
I think I might like to be a stock broker...I have no idea what they really do, but it would be cool to be on 3 phone calls at once in that big crowd on Wall Street and yell 'Buy! Sell!' all day. CNBC makes it look super fun.

What are your vices?
I think it's a tie between buying clothes I can't afford and drinking too much wine, although, thankfully, I've tapered off on the wine quite a bit recently. But I work part time at a wine shoppe, so it's hard to avoid when you're surrounded by all of these amazing things that you can buy at cost...it's like the bottles are peer pressuring you. They're like, "Drink me, I promise I'm SO good...you know you want to, you defenseless little girl. Do it."

If you could date one character from TV (the character, not the real person), who would it be?
Definitely Jim from The Office...I have a monster crush on him. He has this boyish charm thing going on, yet he has this unexpected lightning quick wit that I am such a sucker for. But I wouldn't have the heart to bust up his thing with Pam, so they would have to break up on their own first.

MySpace Page Hacked!!

So, where did my MySpace page go? Well...I've been hacked.

My music account has been temporarily suspended by MySpace for security reasons, which is the reason why it has suddenly disappeared from all of your profiles. However, it is supposedly in the process of being restored, so the page should be up and running soon. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hopefully, my friend library will also be restored and I won't have to add all of you again, but you never know.

Stay tuned for more updates, and do yourself a favor and CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD OFTEN. This is a serious pain in the ass.

FUSE, the new Vegas-style nightclub out at Opryland, has chosen to include "Reckless Parade" on its grand opening promotional soundtrack. I haven't been out there yet, but I've heard it's pretty glam and debaucherous. I guess we'll find out at the launch party. See you there... :)

KATE LINNÉ TO WORK WITH PRODUCER JON KING

KATE LINNÉ TO WORK WITH PRODUCER JON KING

Kate has recently signed on with producer Jon King (Augustana, The October) to record her upcoming EP, to be released in early 2008. "I'm very excited about the project," says Kate, "It feels great to finally get the ball rolling."

Since quitting her job at a Nashville artist management company in the fall of 2007, she has been polishing and paring down her track list in preparation for her debut project, which she says has been a long time coming. "I've been recording as a hobby ever since college, and it will be really nice to hand over the reigns to someone else and really get to focus on doing the artist's job...I think I still have a lot to learn about how to get the performances I want out of myself. It'll probably get a little bit painful and intense and I'll spend a lot of time feeling like I absolutely suck, but I think that's part of it." She laughs. " I mean, I hope I don't cry more than once in front of people. Hopefully I can just do most of that in the bathroom or something."

Kate spent the second half of her college education in the studios at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. She graduated with a degree in Recording Industry Production and Technology, but immediately surrendered any thoughts of being an engineer. "I wasn't a gear-head at all. I mean, I knew I loved the recording process, but I didn't realize that it wasn't the button-pressing part until I was in my last few months. But I had so much fun...There was even one semester where I had mono and I was so incredibly sick, but still, I never missed one 4am session. Looking back, I can't believe no one told me to lay off. But my lab partner at the time was my boyfriend who had coincidentally given me the mono, so maybe there's some sort of weird irony in that that makes it a funny story...I don't know."

Kate is also very excited to begin playing full-band shows after the recording process is complete. "I have never been a very big fan of the girl-and-a-piano type shows. I think they bore people, and I for sure don't want to do that. Especially in Nashville, because Nashville knows it's a tough crowd. You have to give them something genuinely cool to get them excited...or something that's as least as cool as their band or the three other bands they play with around town."

When asked about her musical goals, Kate is very firm. "I have always been aggravated that the music that people find entertaining and the music that people find meaningful are often two different things. I want to do both...I want people to have fun and have a drink or two at my shows, but I also want to really connect with people on a more emotional level. These songs are about my life and they're all real and are things that I've gone through...that I think everyone goes through. I just want to be honest with people and do it in a way that's relatable, because at the very worst times in my life, all I had were songs. All the times where I felt completely crazy and like no one understood were the times where I need to put on a record and drive down the highway and just cry. Music has saved me from self-destruction, and I know I'm not alone in that."
