Well, technology has advanced far enough, it is safe to say, that even fairly ad hoc devices are designed to get us online and communicating. Sure, people hacked DS's and PSP's back before they were officially web-ready, but the Wii is fully webernated.

As of today, Wiis officially have a non-beta version of a major browser, Opera. Sure, not Firefox, but the funny Norwegians that make Opera have been really doing quite a thing with mobile/embedded browsers.

Anyway, since this is a real browser (with JavaScript, CSS, and Flash 7), it does pretty good. Since the display is a normal-ass TV, there are both scaling and reformatting controls (which tends to work pretty decent). The only big issue (streaming Flash would have been cool) is the clumsiness of the typing. I am getting by right now (yes, I am doing this quite literally with the Wiimote in hand) but a keyboard would have been awesome.
