the neck of the angel
smells of Marc jacobs and fur
candied apples and Myrrh
we touch down in Vegas
Hard Rock and Sands
we touch with rubber hands
and feel like brigands
with Pirate eyes
and wounded thighs
we sympathize
with magic
and we are lured
by the tragic outcome of others
our heart beats
with those ancient drummers
who bent time and will
with music.

Virbrant
prolific but obscene
in truth,
that is why he created a scene
split his spleen
upon the stage for all to see
an aging pack of flesh and rage
but soft inside
a spirit roused
a heart of flame
its beating loud as metal
but the crowd stood transfixed
their eyes upon his crucifix
turned his wit
into a witch
did not hear the song
but only the pitch
read between the lines
to words he could not have writ
cast out among the young
among the disbelievers
the pornographic
and the decievers
'a man can never be a prophet
in his own town, even if that town
be full of seekers'
that town reeks
of imitation
and moral piety
throw them to the hillsides
from the midwest
to the Texas shores
they will be heard no more
like love to a whore
they will miss it.
