We have signed a record label deal with One Little Indian and are recording our new Album right now!

ABOUT
Hailing from Bath Spa University (where they met and four-fifths of the band have just completed music degrees), Kill It Kid are a unique and storming proposition; recalling the primal delta blues appropriated with much success by the likes of the White Stripes and Two Gallants in recent years and taking their moniker from a dusty, rare old recording where Blind Willie McTell was addressed. The heft of this association might set the band up for a fall were it not so powerfully and passionately rendered.

Inordinately young, innately talented, yet more-so a quintet that come together in live performances as something truly magnificent to behold, the group have already caught the attention of both major and independent record labels alike. Furthermore they have recorded with renowned producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels); and been "unequivocally recommended" by influential website Drowned in Sound thus:

"With soul-searching lyrics relayed in Chris Turpin's veritable roar of a voice that comes across a four-in-the-morning, whiskey-soaked cousin of Antony Hegarty's perfectly complementing the seductive prowl of Stephanie Ward's, and rip-roaring tunes such as 'Heaven Never Seemed So Close' at their disposal, these five students from Bath exemplify a steely passion and musical flair far beyond their years." - April 2008, James Skinner, Camden Barfly Review

While Turpin has been performing solo for many years, Kill It Kid have been gigging relentlessly across the UK in recent months, leading to a forthcoming slot with The National subsequent to piquing the interest of the Black Cab Sessions (which The Observer described "the smallest, hippest gig in town" and recently featured the likes of The Kooks through Lykke Li and Death Cab For Cutie). The band have also accrued numerous radio sessions and many fans in their dedication to performing live (undertaken purely off their own back, with a mailing list that increases exponentially following every show), which has seen their performances steadily grow in stature to the point where spontaneous clap-alongs have become a regular occurrence.

Kill It Kid are, undoubtedly, in it for the long haul; exemplified by their devotion, unnerving confidence and sound at once soulful, resonant.
