I am on a journey toward wholeness.
Sometimes this journey is a lonely one.
I am learning how to rejoice in the loneliness.

Death is so very awkward. I never really noticed before. My Grandpa died on Sunday. The silences between my family and I are deafening. I hadn't realized how far apart we had grown. It feels like we are strangers, and due to the tragic circumstances we are not even able to fall back on our traditional ways of communication. We have to forge new ones through the awkwardness. I am not sad about our distance, I accept it as part of our journey. I am not sad for my Grandpa, he was sick. I am sad for my father, because I don't think he understands.

In order to attend the funeral I had to take a leave of absence from school. This means that for the next 14 days I am FREE. I needed a break so badly, however, I was not allowing myself to have one. I guess God gives us what we need no matter what we have decided. I am thinking about taking a little trip... where shall I go? Would you like to come with me? Or do I need to do this alone?

I realized that I am an extremely polar person. I can't decide if this is good or bad but I do know that it is exhausting. On one hand, I would love to be steady, to rest in stability, but if my lows weren't so low, would my highs be as high? Maybe my polarity shows a deep ability to feel... I like to think so.

I think that one of the most satisfying things on earth is a really good Harry Potter tie in. When I am able to perfectly relate a real life situation to an adventure of Harry, Ron or Hermione I feel a deep sense of gratification. Nerd alert, I know.

I have a new vice... it's called "Scratch-Off Bingo Tickets." Yikes. It all started when I bought one and won some money! I keep winning too! My new thing is watching Lifetime movies and scratching off Bingo tickets. I know, I know... I am like an 80 year old. Britty and I decided that we are actually going to start going down to the VFW Hall to play Bingo with the old people... can't wait!

Sometimes it is really hard to honor people. I am getting better at it, but it continues to be a fight. Everyone has the innate value that comes from being a child of God and valuable people shouldn't have bad things to say about other valuable people.

A couple final thoughts...
-The timing is always perfect.
-Lot's of people have said lots of nice things to me lately.
-I have the best friends in the whole wide world. Honest.

Back from the pron show.
Though the experience was largely indescribable I will try to put it into words for the purpose of interweb immortalization.
I'll begin by giving you a play-by-play...
We left Grand Rapids on Thursday at 5pm. We reached the border an immediately began our hour and a half journey through the weird, dirty vortex called customs. After having our fill of mullets, blank stares and leg rashes we piled back in the Fj and headed for Toronto. We made it to the hotel at about 1am and promptly feel asleep in our new home, room 252.
Friday morning we woke up early to get to Exhibition Place to set up our booth. The building the show was in was huge and at the entrance to the complex was some giant Arc-De-Triumph type thing. Though the building was largely devoid of people at this point, most of the other booths were set up and it looked something like a large, empty Spencer's. After setting up we ventured downtown for a little H&M action.
We returned to the show for it's opening at 3pm and spent the rest of the night talking to people, handing out bibles and drinking copious amounts of coffee. I got to tell a lot of people about the Esther Fund, which was awesome. If we hadn't slowed down and started handing out cards all 2300 bibles would easily have been gone Friday night. We left the show at midnite and collapsed into bed.
Saturday we slept in a little and then headed to the show for a 13 hour day. As the only girl in our group I decided to go around and meet some of the other female exhibitors at the show. I just went up, introduced myself and invited them to come hang out at our booth. It was awesome to see how many of them actually did drop by to say hello and check out X3. We got to do a lot of radio and TV interviews that day and even off-roaded with the porn cruiser for a little photo shoot.
By Sunday we were out of Bibles and straight up exhausted. We hung around that day , chatting it up and passing out cards. We left that evening and went to a church about 30 minutes away where Brandon did a porn and parents seminar. During this seminar Brandon not only used the word climax twice but he also busted out the phrase "high tech star trek" for which he will never hear the end of it. We then dined and headed back to the States.
We had a ton of fun this weekend, and I don't think it was properly conveyed in my recap, so here are a couple of random "snap shots"...
*We all have new nicknames now
Clint= Terrel
Brandon= B-don, Beej, BJ
Krissee= Sistah Mama
*On Saturday Cllint and I decided to see how long we could go without talking to Brandon until he noticed. It was pretty hilarious and we could have gotten away with it longer but Clint cracked under pressure and gave us away.
*On the way home Brandon was just laying down in the back to go to sleep and Clint and I decided that we would gradually turn up the music over a period of time until it was deafening. I think maybe you would have had to have been there, but I laughed so hard I almost chundered.
*Speaking of chunder, we got some great new phrases...
-jackasss of all trades
-chunder
-chunder and lightening
-chunder thunder
-chunder down under
- fade like bleach
*Clint and Brandon loved to say such things as "Krissee stop being a bitch" or "Danger you are being bitch squad right now!" Even though I wasn't! Oh the joys of being the only lady.
*Screaming out the window "CREEEEEEEEEPS!!! CREEEEEEPSTERS! HUSSY!!!"
*At night Brandon and Clint had lots of work to do and I didn't so I made ransom notes out of pamphlets and toothpaste... some of my best works included "Pron Stras Roolz" and "Terrel Pwns Nubs."
*Clint's commentary on Dog the Bounty Hunter is unequaled. Including such comments as "I am a butt chest. I can sit upside down and store objects and small humans."
*Finally, the top 5 asked questions...
-What the hell is this?
-Are you just sexually free Christians?
-Are there nuns doing it on your site?
-Why shouldn't I look at porn?
-Jesus loves porn? [To which we quickly reply "STARS. Jesus loves porn
STARS."]

This weekend changed me. It is one thing to know with your head that you are doing exactly what you are called to do, but it is another thing to feel it with your heart. Unfortunately, tasting a little bit of what it feels like to do what I feel called to makes it exponentially harder to go back to school. Drudgery.
