Thermo Kalosorisma,
My name is Nikos Petros Koulouris and I am of Greek (cretan) origin. Since my childhood I was interested in music. My father very often listened to traditional Greek music which later on brought me to feel this music as my natural. I started playing saxophone at the age of 15 and have been playing until now in many different groups. For 6 years I have been playing as a member of one from the biggest Czech pop groups called KRYSTOF, which has got tens of serious musical awards. Despite this nice and really interesting group I also play different styles (jazz, funky, afro-Cuban and traditional Greek) + sessions with Dj Forest that brought me to completely different field of music - experimental. During last 7 years I have been seriously interested in Greek traditions. I started to dance traditional dances and became a member of the world Greek association Lyceum of Greek Women (Lykion Ton Ellinidon) which has been trying to preserve old Greek traditions. Despite this fact I also started to play for the dancers as a clarinetist. Last 2 years I have dedicated to compose and arrange my own songs that are deeply influenced by Greek traditions. These songs bear traces of the old Hellenic culture - the name of this group is NISOS.
