Laptop Lounge v2.0.0
With live experimental electronic music performances from...
Miles Maeda
Miles Maeda, known primarily for his work as house DJ and producer, takes a pleasant detour from this work to exhibit some of his ambient-downtempo creations. With a classical background and versatile production style, his hybridization of musical genres touches on the familiar to the peregrine. Imagine a Ghibli film scored by The Black Dog, transcribed by Bach and served up with a side of Hall & Oats.
Beji
Beji is a Ram and a Monkey. Although Beji composes his tunes primarily using a laptop and MIDI controller, he dreams of one day being part of a more organic, human ensemble. He is inspired by ghosts, love, visions, sex, decay and death. His arms are feathered wings.
Acroyear of Pan-Zen
Acroyear is Luis Tataje, a local foreign nationalist creating sonic landscapes in Portland and San Francisco since 1998. His sound is dark, visceral, sometimes arhythmic, but always thought-provoking. His discography includes releases on Portland's groundbreaking (yet now defunct) dub label, BSI Records, and remixes for the likes of The Gentry and Scorn.
Technicolor Yawn
Jason Goodrich, aka Technicolor Yawn, is a local phenom. His complex sound design and angular music style puts his production in the league of even the most well-respected artists from Warp, Schematic, and similar IDM imprints.
