A PAYING RECORD DEAL WOULD BE AWESOME RIGHT ABOUT NOW.
Since late 2001, the Last Days of Russell has existed as a continuing experiment in what most would call "postmodern instrumental hip-hop." The project's name originates from "an unsold TV pilot about a thirteen-year-old African-American boy, convinced that he will suffer the same fate as his namesake uncle who died at fourteen and determined to make his last days the best."
Russell's most recent project is the EP featured here, "Rejoice, Sinners!" Prevailing influences of this particular project include 1960's/1970's grindhouse cinema, the "pop occult" craze of the aforementioned era (with all its central figures, including Sharon Tate and the Process Church), the works of Rob Zombie, the Brainfeeder collective and the popular British alt.culture mag "Bizarre."
Information on sample sources and recording techniques will not be disclosed.

The first posted album is a quick EP called "Rejoice, Sinners!" It's designed to give you a quick introduction to the styles I'm currently feeling. In due time, I'll post other projects from the past few years, including the first two "Stoned Reels" projects.
