I've been nominated for the Mashable Open Web Awards!

Firstly, thanks to everyone who nominated me and my addons for the blog plugins category in the 2nd Annual Open Web Awards. Without your nominations my ExpressionEngine addons would have never made it through to the voting round.

Now that my addons are eligible for voting I'm rallying the troops again. The battle cry... Vote, vote and vote again! Voting is one vote per Category per E-mail Address Per Day so make sure you vote multiple times.

My addons are up against some pretty big competition like Snap and Share This so your vote will definitely count.

I've updated the voting widget on the Newism blog or you can vote directly from the home and addon documentation pages of leevigraham.com.

Still reading? Stop and GO VOTE NOW!!

Thanks again for all your support,

LG Better Meta 1.7 now with Sitemaps, LG .htaccess Generator & LG Live Look!

Hey guys,

Important information first!

For those of you who haven't heard, my good friend Wayde and I have started a Newcastle based web design and development company called Newism. It took us a while but finally "soft launched" our new site. There's still a fair bit of work to be done but we are getting there.

As a result Newism has now been accepted in the ExpressionEngine Pro Network which is great news for us and our clients!

One of the reasons why it took so long to get the site up and running is because I have been so busy publishing more ExpressionEngine extensions, modules and plugins.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LG Better Meta 1.7.0 - Improve your sites SEO with custom page titles, descriptions, robot meta tags, sitemap generator and more.

My personal favourite is the 1.7.0 release of LG Better Meta which now includes an ExpressionEngine sitemap generator! Not only can you improve your ExpressionEngine sites SEO you can now tell Google about it at the same time.

The LG Better Meta extension adds a new tab to the publish and edit tabs of the ExpressionEngine administration. The included plugin renders the individual entry and site meta data, which when used correctly will create SEO optimised pages and search engine sitemaps.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LG Live Look 1.0.0 - Preview ExpressionEngine entries in the publish/edit tab

The next ExpressionEngine extension that I released was LG Live Look 1.0.0. LG Live Look is a Multi-Site Manager compatible ExpressionEngine extension that allows you to preview weblog entries in the ExpressionEngine control panel. A Live Look tab is added to the publish / edit form which displays the populated entry template and a Live Look link is added to the CP edit tab entry table.

If you want to know more about LG Live Look and how to setup your ExpressionEngine templates I wrote a post about it over on the Newism Blog.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LG .htaccess Generator 1.0.0 - Easily remove index.php from your ExpressionEngine URLs

Finally, I have written and ExpressionEngine extension that effortlessly generates a .htaccess file allowing you to remove the index.php from your site. I creatively called it LG .htaccess Generator and wrote about it over on the Newism Blog.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

bigTarget.js - Increase the size of click targets and get more call-to-action conversions

For something a little different I wrote a jQuery plugin called bigTarget.js. This little jem turns a whole region of your page into a clickable target rather than just a measly little link. It's been pretty popular featuring on the front page of Ajaxian.com and getting a mention in the jQuery Twitter feed. Don't just take my word for it go check out the writeup on the Newism Blog.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for bearing with me on a unusually long blog post but it had been a while since my last one. I hope you find all my latest releases useful. If you like them please bookmark them on your social networks and spread the word.

Cheers Leevi

Heres a bit of an introduction to LG Polls.

- AJAX enabled poll submission (optional)
- Detailed poll information with powerfull sorting via the EE Control Panel.

- Restrict polls by member group

Provirb.com vaporware?

Some of you may know that quite a while ago Wayde, Rob and I started a project called provirb.com. The goal of the site was to collect and comment on the best virb.om profiles out there. Since our first announcement and launch of the "keep me informed" newsletter our virb profile has over 516 friends and the newsletter has 440+ subscribers. Not bad for a site that has not even been launched.

So I guess this is the best time for a bit of an update. After travelling the world for the last 12 months I have finally landed back on Australian soil with renewed dedication to launching provirb.com. I can confirm that all the code for the site is up and running on our test servers (including a nice surprise) and the front end design is going to be revved up over the next two weeks. There is still no confirmed launch date so be sure to check back for updated information.

ProVIRB: A new Virb community site is launching soon!

ProVIRB: A new Virb community site is launching soon!

Hi all,

Just thought you'd like to know about ProVIRB - a new Virb community site some friends and I are working on.

We're hoping ProVIRB will be the number one place to go for Virb themes, modules and tutes. We've got some great features in the works all powered with jQuery action which we're sure you'll dig. Where possible the jQuery code will be transformed into plugins for all the jQuery community to use.

So if you're interested, jump on the mailing list so we can keep you posted on our launch date (feel free to Digg us while you're there ;) ).

After signing up, head to our Virb profile and add us to your friends list. As the site progresses we'll be keeping our friends up-to-date via our home on Virb. We'll also be launching a private beta, and our first 500 friends will be invited to help us out with it (we're so Web 2.0)!

Cheers!
