The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus http://virb.com/lennonbus The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a non-profit, mobile recording studio outfitted with traditional musical instruments as well as current technological advances. Since 1998, the Bus has provided free hands-on programs to hundreds of high schools, colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conventions and community organizations. Working together with some of the biggest names in music, the Lennon Bus encourages students to play music, write songs, engineer recording sessions and produce music video projects using the latest audio, video, and live sound equipment. The interior is divided into two separate recording environments. The front studio offers the chance to participate in the creation of multi-media projects. Audio and video components are demonstrated, with visitors assisting in the recording and editing of original material. The back studio is a more traditional set-up for bands and the remote recording of concerts and special events. It features a full range of instruments including guitars, basses, keyboards, and drums. Liyana means "it's raining". They are a group stemming from King George VI school in Zimbabwe. Though students at KGVI all have physical challenges they are encouraged to believe they can achieve anything. Liyana has achieved a great deal in its first US tour. In this video, Liyana met up with students from the San Francisco School of the Arts at Macworld and created a project titled "Diversity".
We may come from different countries,
We may speak different languages,
We may dance different dances,

Unlike the slot machines inside the casino, working with the students on board the bus was definitely not a gamble. Students came together from 4 different area schools to complete their project in a day and make new friends. The following day they came back to the convention to premiere their video and jam out for the attendees at the closing ceremonies.

We recorded their newest song and shot a music video in the iTV building using Apple computers and Logic Pro 8 for the audio, and Sony HD cameras and Final Cut Pro for the video. The video has the look of a nighttime talk show band performance and will be great for them to promote themselves as an up and coming group. Keep your eyes open for Command Radio.
