So, as I was saying...

Meaningful shared experiences, late night talks over dinner, drinks, coffee or dessert, comfortable silence, art, travel, philosophy and exploring different cultures and points of view, finding the humor in things that you never would have imagined laughing at yesterday, learning something new every day, the pleasures and the agonies of growing old - that's what life is all about.

The absurdities of life, people, chance and circumstance inspire me. Serendipity is a beautiful thing. Generally thought of as a good egg, but I would really prefer to be an inspiration, to at least one person, before I die. I may not always use my noodle, but I like to think I'm smarter than I sometimes seem. Alliteration is my friend. One day I will learn how to tell good jokes. For now, I don't mind people laughing at my silly ass.

I pushed to talk
But the circuit was broken
Before me, or because of, maybe
Hard to say
What words you heard
Seems I said something else instead
Not the words I thought I meant
But its too late to explain now anyway
With no working way to connect
This gap, this unfinished conversation
Unclear communication
Is all I'm left with
Unmet expectations
And a mouthful of regret
I pushed to talk
But now you're not there
At least not long enough
For my words to hold their meaning.
