I suffer from visits from "The Old Hag," a sleep paralysis that is both very terrifying and very cool. I often have to scream to my wife to wake me up. This song has elements of those occurrences.

- Brent

Lyrics

I know they see me
Can you wait for it to change?
Whether or not I
Ever see the light of day
I wonder if my eyes are okay (x3)

Too few steps I made
To reach and cross that sliding line
Dangerously careful
Of breaking every weakened mind
Fighting this disease of time (x3)

My hands don’t work now
I lost all use when you touched them
I’ll return the favor
So you won’t feel a thing again
Nothing is the same here now (x3)

I still hear the screams
Weighing down my bedroom air
Waking up my old dreams
Wrapping them up in my bed
Afraid to go to sleep again (x3)

I can’t remember
Why it was they called you in
I knew December
December’s just a floating end
It starts all over again (x3)

The pieces fit now
It’s just a matter of patience
I’ll put them back in place now
And if you had your own regrets
Could you even ask for it?
Would you even ask for it?
Could you even ask for it?
