About

i am a girl, living in south africa, working for an organisation called emthonjeni. it's a dream come true....and the hardest thing i've ever done. i love art & music. i am grateful for the people in my life who have been [and are] true friends. ...the new ones i've met here in jo'burg, and the dear ones back in grand rapids.

i will definitely send you that picture...although i have no idea how to get it from my phone onto the computer....hm...hey on another note, you will appreciate this: I've been searching and searching for peppadew and can't find it anywhere in this country- except for on a sandwich at panera and at amazon.com . Needless to say, i've been going to panera a lot since I got back from SA. That stuff is seriously good.... : )

Matthew Ellis says:

(in case you don't see my reply in the announcement) I think 'Eat, Sleep, Repeat' is awesome and showcases some of their best work. It might not have the same appeal that Beneath Medicine Tree once did for me, but the songwriting is mostly more mature and diverse. Copeland wrote a really great and evocative record (granted, with a pretty narrow theme) when they were younger, and unfortunately that made it hard for a lot of fans to appreciate their evolution. 'Love Affair' immediately seemed a modern classic, revealing more depth and lyrical strength than 'Testing the Strong Ones', or similarly earnest yet limited songs from BMT. I'll always relish going back to where that record can take me, but it requires revisiting... it doesn't have the ability to come meet me where I am now. I'm not sure why that is, but I just think I'll never have feelings in the future that can be deepened and stirred up by songwriting like that. We've grown up a bit and so have they, you know?
