I am a fragile being.
You can use me in parts, but it's better if you put me together. You see, I can work in bits and pieces and come up with a satisfactory product. Some might even call that product good, but if you put me together and give me strength and power, we can do anything together.
Tap. She hit Enter with a sense of resolve. The code looked perfect. F12 - the preview looked just as nice as she thought it would, except the color of that link. How did that happen? Back to the code, but then Sam appeared at her cubicle opening.
"Hey, I just got this great idea!" Sam invited himself in and sat down. Placing his elbows on his knees and his fingers out wide, he looked into Carie's eyes through her glasses and told his story. "What our public needs right now is some encouragement! I have the perfect message we need to send them - your kids are safe with us! It has to go on the front page and it really has to get people's attention because it's important for ALL our customers to know. Maybe you could put it right above that link, there." Carie tried not to roll her eyes. This was almost a daily occurrence and she thought she should just get used to it already. The front page was already cluttered with Sam's "great ideas" but she placed his latest one anyway.
"Can we make it flash?" Carie made it flash. It looked obnoxious, but in this state of disassembly nobody really cared. Satisfied, Sam left saying "Thank you Carie! Thank you so much, this will mean so much for the company."
Later, Carie's supervisor invited himself into her cubicle.
"Do you mind telling me what you've done to the front page of our website?" Carie tried not to show her exasperation as she refreshed the home page and gave him the grand tour of Sam's revision. He demanded she take all of them down and not make any more without his consent.
If the entire team is disassembled, it can't really do any good. The parts of the team just constantly war against one another and don't ever get anywhere.
I am a fragile creature. I suggest you assemble me and teach me well.
