Bio

Lloyd DeSouza was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.

After attending UCLA, he moved into the world of motion picture production and development. Always a prolific writer, Lloyd focused his attention to penning several screenplays. Two of his feature length screenplays have been optioned on spec and, in addition, he has been hired by various production companies to re-write their existing projects.

Praise for his visual style of writing led him to enroll in The Los Angeles Film School. There he completed coursework in the Directing Program and directed two Thesis Films:

Last Dance is an Action/Drama shot on S16mm film. A short war piece that has been praised for its visual beauty and engaging war sequences, Last Dance became an Official Selection at the Malibu International Film Festival (2007).

Sacrosanctus is an Adventure/Drama that was shot in Los Angeles, both on location and soundstage. To achieve a unique visual style, Sacrosanctus was filmed on 35mm film, S16mm film and uncompressed HD. It is the first student film to use the Thompson Grass Valley Viper HD System and the only student film to shoot in L.A.'s prestigious Chinatown District. The large scope and successful execution of Sacrosanctus allowed for the rights to a feature length version of the film to be purchased.

Since graduation, Lloyd has remained actively working as both a Writer and Director. He directed the short film 'In Another Time', which was an Official Selection at both the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.

Lloyd then went on to film 'The Music Of You'. Shot in Myrtle Beach, SC and Miami, FL, in both the Spanish and English languages, on S35mm, Lloyd got the opportunity to direct newcomer Brett Novek and International stars Julio Iglesias Jr and Ana Carolina Da Fonseca. The Music of You went on to screen at Festival de Cine Internacional de Barcelona.

Recently, he had been working with talented actor Garret Noel, directing select scenes from Noel's feature project 'Promised Land' on the Red One camera.

Currently Lloyd is developing his feature project SLOW BURN - a story of revenge taking place in the mountains and badlands of rural Montana.

Additionally he will be directing music videos for ROBOTANISTS' 'Wait a Minute Here' and SABROSA PURR's 'Fashion Kills'.
