So I'm told I should blog.
I'm not new to the blogging thing, but I feel xanga where I previously posted is a bit dated and abandoned. We had our day, it was good, but I haven't posted there in months. I'll possibly post some older stuff to archive for posterity and comparison. If you feel the need to peruse you may. www.xanga.com/loallaglo
I'll begin with part of a letter I wrote to a new friend I met on my trip to New York with Sarah. I don't want to rewrite it, I think you can follow the events without me recounting the specifics for you.

Yes, we had a fabulous rest of our stay in the city. So after you told me on Thursday night that no one from New York is from New York, I began conducting a survey. (It made for easy conversation, people love to talk about themselves apparently) "So where are you from and what brought you here?" The latter question always elicited great responses. I got a few "chasing a dream", usually followed by a sigh or glazed expression. Apparently it didn't work out. A few "running from (insert seemingly insurmountable problem here)." My favorites were the "chasing a girl". Those never seem to have worked out either, but made for great stories.
I told you about our cab driver who suggested that if I did nothing else in New York I needed to fall in love... which you said was difficult. Intrigued, I added this to my survey. "So I'm told it's near impossible to fall in love here... are you in love?"
The first person I quizzed, a bartender at this quirky bistro in Greenwich Village gave a thoughtful pause.... "maybe". He needed time to tell, but she had potential. He did confirm he'd been in love in the city before and that yes, it had proved difficult. Eavesdropping was a drunken Brazilian man who'd been playing guitar for the bistro equaling an audience of four. (imagine eccentric, only moderately hygienic with a thick sort of Latin/french accent) "Bullshit! I looove loouve in New York. New Yuork ees for lovers! Just keep it below 14th street... or Houston if you can. This is best" He had moved there five years prior to chase a girl. Apparently it didn't work out. I think she lived in Gramercy.
