7/12 : a different speed
bio________________________________________________________________________________
my name is luke nemitz. i like music alot. i love God and what Hes doin in my life. most of my songs will be about Him and what Hes teaching me about living life. i try my best to musically capture His character as well, although it is impossible to ever do so because He is so many things. i love Him, He loves me. if you are mad at Him or have questions about Him i urge you to ask Him to tell you who He is and why He does what He does. also that book called the Bible seriously has some answers, please look for a readable version though and someone who knows about it. also ask people stuff because more than likely they have questions too and God will probably use that person to help answer some of your questions. He does stuff like that.
100% genuine music. no samples, loops or any other musical shortcuts were used in the production of this music. i use a program called reaper on windows vista. macs are to popular with musicians.
my voice is the most solid around but i just sing because i want to.
i also like Maj7 chords. so full. also other chords that are not ingrained into your head or expected, i enjoy.
joel meredith is the cover artist for the leaves and snow album. you can visit his gallery at http://avalon4asixpence.deviantart.com/

a different speed: basically just a new concept of life for me to learn and enjoy :)
ways of blinking: written to help me remember what think about as i go to sleep. i tend to think about things too much and lose focus on what God has told me already and forget all the sweet stuff Hes done in me, even as i lay down to sleep. based on john 3:5, col 3:15, and I timothy 6:12
kill: was written after a discussion with my mom. alot of other things were happening as well where God was showing me that " man, seriously luke, your a selfish dude." so i wrote it as a plea and a reminder of sorts.
please think of me: is from a psalm that david wrote. felt connected to it so wrote to it. please check lyrics out.
dying because trying: is one of those songs you write when youre frustrated with yourself and so it just came out. put some bass
action in there to better pull some stuff together. bass guitar provided by alex madore ( who is a good friend and has a virb of his own) thanks man.
thank You: written in response to have a huge self absorbed thought session and God reminding me He is so much more than i can even think of, and me remembering i dont thank Him enough for being that.
be that place: written because i didnt want to be prideful, so God gave me this song to remind me that mans/ my heart is not good and man/ i need God and Jesus' teachings/life/death/resurrection and Holy Spirit to help us out. based on proverbs 29:23, proverbs 4:23, jeremiah 17:9 and the story of the blind man in Jesus' time on earth. one of the few songs that has some kind of form to it.
stars and sleep: was written for alex madores girlfriend. it was really just improv in which i brought back this one main motif again and again. but it seemed to be nice. the file was named jason for a while because i didnt have a title for it, but after listening to it i felt stars and sleep best descibed the tones and mood.
sat. 934: was written on saturday at 9:34 pm. was having an overwhelming day and got the old clarinet out and improved a tune in d minor (in Bb clarinet terms) helped me relax and chill.
lament: is one of my orchestral pieces. done with a midi keyboard hooked up to a pc with a bunch of soundfonts. it follows a more sorrowful or lamentful tone and finishes off with some power or hope with a soft string section in the end.

I'm sorry. I ran out of time and couldn't upload the whole song so VIrb truncated it. I'll re-upload it!

Thanks for the comment, Luke. I really love your music. I have been searching and searching for something this good! Sooner or later I'm going to have to start making my own music. I sing and play piano as well for the missions organization I work with. Have you heard of the International House of Prayer? We basically have live worship and prayer 24/7. You should check it out www.ihop.org

Yeah, we're currently in the process of finding a cool label to help support us and put our new CD soon, but we're crossing our fingers for a good year ourselves. I was thinkin' teleports were required when I went on a walk for an hour and a half yesterday. My legs are still in pain all because of the laziness of today's inventors. (By the way, I recently worked on Ryan Taylor Bliss's Virb layout [www.virb.com/ryantaylorbliss] and if you ever need, one let me know. I'm not a cheap business person, so I'll work on it for free.)

Thank you for your comment. Also, thanks for looking at my work. Really glad you liked the sunset picture. It's one of my favorites. You're right, life with Jesus is awesome. I wish that could be written on a big, yellow, permanent post-it note that was stuck somewhere in front of me everyday b/c I lose sight of this truth. Have a great weekend. Take care -Leslee

Thanks! I love that concerto, althought I haven't listened to it very many times. There is always so much to listen to!
