Musically, in case you were wondering at all, luna spark is a melding of many influences, like New Order, Grandaddy, Devo, Duran Duran, Radiohead, Weezer, etc etc. With lo-fi drum machines.
The new album, Scud Of Freedom, is a bit different though, being heavier, shinier, and louder than normal luna spark. Usually it's pretty lo-fi. Trigger Happy Little Finger is a little different though, being a collection of melodic songs with acoustic guitar and moog syntheseizers dominating. Lyrically... well. It's a melding of many influences. The Siren is a little different though, being a conceptual song-cycle telling the story of a young boy, two cities and an election. I suppose if you like crazy bedroom indie-pop, listen to Sarah or Countdown to Meltdown. If you like electro-guitar indie, try Media or Panic. If you like the more serious side of home-produced indie, try Simcerity. If you like concept albums with everything included the kitchen sink thrown in, try The Siren. If you like pretty, haunting acoustic music with a synthesized edge, try Trigger Happy Little Finger. Lastly, if you like loud, fast, electro-rock crossover stuff with a pop edge, try the latest album, Scud Of Freedom.
Generally, if you hear a girl singing pretty and in tune, it's lulu. If you hear a guy singing and his voice is distorted and a bit wobbly, it's tracey exenola. And if you hear a guy rapping, it's rop movie. There are a couple of exceptions, but ah well. That'll do for now.
Here on Virb you can check out a selection of tracks from The Siren, Trigger Happy Little Finger, and Scud Of Freedom. Check out lunaspark.net to listen to/download the rest!
