I drove to the ocean and walked to the beach to the sand
I climbed down a staircase and beheld a view oh so grand
I just missed the sunset by an hour or two
Feeling sand between my toes
Though I was wearing both shoes
It was then that I knew
The night here is dark with a slightly moist breeze on my nose
I sit on a bench on the boardwalk and wiggle my toes
The fishermen pursue their last catch of the day
And the couples walk by me locked in their love gazes
And it's getting late and I know
That everything's changing around me
It's not a big difference to show
But no one is changing
More than the me I know
I'm here and you're here
And we're all together on this wooden pier
And everyone feels the heartbeat of the Pacific tide
I'm here and you're here
And we're all together on this wooden pier
Everyone feels the heartbeat of the Pacific tide
Everyone feels the heartbeat of the Pacific tide
