New glitchy experimental tracks coming soon, stay tuned. Just bought myself a korg electribe emx-1 and a new laptop, and have recently been lost in the combinations and possibilities of these machines. Stuff is starting to come together though. My dream is to catch that glitchy spastic circuit bent sound, but shape it into more listenable or danceable tunes... and of course, it's all gotta be played live :)
Before the record industries appeared, before there were cd's and tapes and vinyl, the musicians only played live gigs. Any time you wanted music, you found some musicians. I'm hoping to see a return to that style (maybe a long shot!) Sure, the record industries will have you buy mp3s, and will sell them to you through your internet and your laptops and your phones in an instant, but I for one don't want to pay the record industries. I want to pay the artists that come and perform. The ones that care about how they sound, and not about massmarket digital content delivery systems.
A war is currently raging over the distribution rights for music; the old record company mafia types trying to strangle a freely distributable mp3 culture, but the real advancements in modern music culture are not yet being widely published. The technology for creating live electronic music is flourishing, and along with it, the hope of returning to the original distribution channels of music; listening to the musicians performing their art.
