MAKAKO JUMP : NEW CD OUT ! ! !
IN TOUR SPREADING THROUGH ITALY - GERMANY - AUSTRIA - BENELUX
2008 is the year of the brand new cd of MAKAKO JUMP: the italian label will be Maninalto! Records with Venus Distribution, while for Benelux - Germany - Switzerland - Austria the cd will be released under Soulfire Records, with Rought Trade distribution.
In only 5 years this crazy band collected over 400 gigs playing in many international festivals like:
- Rototom Sunsplash
- Soca River Splash
- Samo Reggae Stan
- Positive Vibration
and with 2 European tours from Croatia to Czech Repubblic passing through Austria, Slovenia and Germany. Makako Jump opened some concerts of the most important international reggae artists like Gentleman, Africa Unite and The Skatalites.
The "old" album (MI QUESO ES TU QUESO, 2006) has been promoted in one year and a half through 150 gigs and over 100.000 kms... this long tour carried the band to evolve a brand new sound, sound that will be main part of their new work.
During last autumn one special video clip of Makako Jump has been put on YouTube for free: ATTENTI ALL'UOMO BIANCO (Beware the white man). This song is part of one of Emergency's projects (www.emergency.it) in Sudan: to build the absolute first hearth care hospital of the whole country. Makako Jump picked up the informations from the volunteers of the mission and wrote this song as soundtrack for a cartoon about it. The song talks about the different point of view of our fears respect to the different races, fears that must fall down as soon as possible.

The research of new sounds begins on the takes of the new project: the band choosed to record bass and drums on a tape recorder, and the studios of the slovenian national radio tv situed in Maribor (SLO), near to Austria and Hungarian borders, to do it. So the sound of the cd will be very warm. The style is very evolved respect to MI QUESO ES TU QUESO. The band is moving from the simple ska reggae of the old cd to a new partyreggae style with an international pop attitude, with dub, soul and rock influences. And after the big success of MI QUESO ES TU QUESO on i-Tunes, the new cd will be released by Soulfire Artists / Rough Trade all over Germany - Austria - Benelux - Switzerland.
