The entire neighborhood around me was lit up last night with Christmas lights as we pulled up to my house, I was excited, happy and hopeful. My body was kind of floating, still feeling the effects of one of the best and most empowering, inspiring weekends of my life and I thought the power being back on would be a bit of icing on the cake...

I entered the house and began flipping switches and alas... nothing. It appears I'm one of the lucky customers that had damage to the actual power structures on my house and might not be part of the 95% that are supposed to have power back on by midnight tonight.

I headed out in search for warmth, internet access and TV (you know, the good stuff). I found it all at the offices of Winnercomm where I spent some time floating around online before finding a decent hotel to stay in for the night. I didn't really feel like staying with friends again, I needed to be alone.

I encased myself in the unfamiliar sheets of a rented room, turned off the lights and said a prayer. A short prayer of thanks for the odd situation I was in, knowing that somehow this was part of a bigger picture... and a larger plan.
