Music is war. This is the sound of a stubborn sea-goat that endlessly claws at the cultural norms that make life suck. Chuck Rees' internal explorations result in ambitious, melodic popular song with a sometimes quirky edge.
We are born into a world of predefined roles and duty. Once we take on a role, we are given a new identity that with time becomes easier to mistake as our own. We become so entwined in a web of necessity that we fail to discover our true purpose. Mannequins Breathe is a symbol of an autonomic state of living stripped of its humanity.
