Thomas Greenhalf and Ryan Owen were both studying at the University of Glamorgan with hopes of forming a fresh musical project. After a long hunt for other musicians the duo naturally found each other through a common interest, the passion for writing and playing music. This was the beginning of a beautiful musical relationship which still binds strong to this day. During the early days of this project the duo would exchange song ideas via the internet, slowly developing ideas into full songs. The band later recorded their first track 'Victory Stance', which a testament to their ambient and electronic influences. The six-minute ballad was received well by the listening public and the band didn't fall short of praise. However, the two believed a piece of the puzzle was still missing. The inevitable recruitment of Gareth Price soon followed, a close friend of Thomas who was also studying Popular Music. At the time he was already part of a heavy metal band from Newport, but he felt that the project wasn't entirely fulfilling his musical aspirations as well as his capabilities. He then decided to leave the band to commit to Man Without Country full time. After a series of long, late-night rehearsals in Caerphilly the band further developed and transformed into what it is today. With the introduction and completion of a series of new songs, the trio entered the studio March 2008 to record 'Parity' and 'Handcuffs'.
