About
The Maquette String Quartet is a young, vibrant quartet based in London. Musicians trained at Trinity College of Music and The Royal Academy of Music, these friends decided to set up a professional chamber music group to provide music for entertainment, parties, corporate functions, weddings, civil partnerships, studio recording and television work.
Francesca, Rosie, Linda and Pippa all work as orchestral freelance musicians and have played at all major venues in London, Manchester and Wales. They play a wide range of classical and baroque music, suitable as background music or light entertainment for more formal events. For more upbeat occasions, they love performing jazzy numbers, showtunes, pop music, gypsy tunes...music to really get you going!
As young fresh graduates, they also explore the contemporary music scene in London, playing with Heritage Ochestra, London Breakbeat Orchestra, recording with bands, and playing at Covent Garden. They feel equally at home in the studio as to performing in more unusual venues, recently supporting comedians in live shows at The Comedy Store, Leicester Square.
