"Raw Talent"
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba Marc Ross found himself continually surrounded by music. Whether it was the household piano or church service every Sunday, music was a fundamental part of Marc's upbringing.
Marc began his formal career at the young age of six when he was enrolled in piano lessons. Up to this point, Marc's repertoire consisted mainly of Richard Marx and/or Bryan Adams.
From piano to saxophone to guitar, Marc found himself in high school where he started his first band, The Poetics. A short demo was made and Marc's passion for the studio and for song craft was beginning to become evident. Marc also played the supporting role of "Pish Tush" in his high school's musical production of "The Mikado".
Following the summer of Marc's graduation, he capitalized on the opportunity to work as a roadie on a two month cross-Canada tour with the now Juno nominated group Starfield. A lofty dream suddenly became closer to home.
In 2005 Marc fronted the Winnipeg based band Elyon, where he developed as a performer and a songwriter.
In his most recent work (2007) Marc worked alongside Juno award winning producer Adrian Bradford and Winnipeg based singer/songwriter Jodi King on a six track EP titled music for The arborist. It was in this time that Marc found his passion lying not in his band, but in his solo work.
Marc is currently working towards releasing an EP that we can expect early in 2009.
