A very, very special announcement. (Or... Marc With a C gives all of his albums away for free)

Hi, everyone. Marc With a C here. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but none of us have any money lately. Or at least, I certainly don't. And despite being broke... I still want to listen to and consume new music. I'd assume it's the same way for you.

I've been doing Marc With a C work since about 1999. I've released a lot of albums. Most of them have sold out by now, even after numerous repressings. I don't really have the money to make more copies of the unavailable albums, and I feel a bit bad that in our current climate you'd have to choose between a few gallons of gas and one of my compact discs. Heck, I'm getting kind of tired of being a salesman anyways.

Long story short, I've decided to make all of my music free for the time being. You can download it, burn it for your friends, whatever you want. (Yup, the whole catalog, even the embarrassing stuff). If you like what you hear, donate a few bucks via the PayPal button on the "records" page at marcwithac.com, and I'll make some more records for you soon. If not? No sweat... we all sort of know ahead of time whether or not we're going to pay for music ahead of time. You can finally just go and take an mp3 of "Nerdy Girls" if you want. You can try out other songs of mine, too. Popular songs like "Life's So Hard" and "Stuck With Me" are now on an even keel with slightly more obscure stuff, such as "Harrison Ford" and "Not There At All".

I should point out that this was all made possible by cllct.com, which is a group of musicians that posts their individual releases up on the ol' intraweb just so you can hear it. They love music as much as you do, and they want you to hear it without going broke. My buddies Chris Zabriskie and Patrick Bell have released their last few albums this way, and now I'm throwing caution to the wind and just saying... "Here. I made these songs for you to listen to. Your wallet shouldn't determine if you get to have the songs or not".

So please, take all the Marc With a C music you want right now. Vote on the releases you like. Donate a few bucks if you feel like it. Play the songs to your heart's content. If you want physical copies of these albums, some of them are still in print, and we can make that happen. But mostly... listen to my career. That's what I made it for.

Love on ya,
Marc
