my dear old ipod

what happy joy! what joyful happiness! (is that proper?)

my dead 4th gen ipod... is...
risen!!!

ok, so just over halfway through last semester, my powerbook crashed. HD: gone. everything. But i was like, "no worries! i've got my trusty 4th gen ipod-slash-makeshift external harddrive-ish thing!" So i went to the mac lab, and plugged it in...

...

...

and nothing happened.

itunes didn't open.

a little cute ipod icon didn't show up...

crappy.

so i unplugged it, and tried again. this time, itunes opened, and a nice window popped up and told me that my ipod was corrupt and needed a reformat (stupid windows is what i originally used to set up my ipod. CURSE YOU MICROSOFT!)...
so i sadly unplugged my ipod, and tried to accept that it was no use.
i put it on my desk, and figured i might do some online research... and i did, and nothing helped.

every now and then, since that day, i have tried the ipod to no avail.
until today! i plugged it in with hoped of reformatting it. well that didn't work, because itunes opened and all my music was there! furthermore, i was able to open my ipod and get all the pictures and old homework.

now that everything is safe on my lappy (i hope...) i will reformat my ipod (he needs a fresh start) and put all my important files on it. oh yay.

Kitty Cats

Did you know that a cat has 62 muscles in each ear? I love cats, and they are pretty fascinating creatures.
- They walk on their toes, placing their hind foot directly behind the front to ensure firm-footing.
- They can extend their claws voluntarily on one or more paws at will.
- The cheetah is the only cat without retractable claws.
- A cat cannot taste sweetness.

So yes, we (my roommate and I) named him Kitkat, but I call him Kit for short. We got him a turquoise blue collar, which looks great against his golden fur. The vet said he's between 6 and 12 months old, so we have to get him neutered ASAP.

Anyhow, short post, I know, but I just had to express how much I like cats.

So damned lucky it sucks
So small, so very small and unworthy
Why do I have to be the weak flawed one?

Another win for you
I hope you're happy, sincerely.

I hope your pride isn't to big for you too handle
I hope you don't give yourself too much credit.

Yes, I filled my gas tank to the brim (my mom gave me money hooray!).
$3.01/gallon x 16 gallon tank = approximately $50 bones. That's so much!

And now.... a list of things that could have been purchased with what is now in my gas tank:

4000 copies of the Sunday paper
263 bananas from Trader Joe's
100 Jack in the Box tacos
50 iTunes songs
20 Packages of Pepperidge Farm Mint Milano cookies
5 Threadless shirts - during a ten-dollar sale
1 ticket from Southwest Airlines from LA to Sacramento!

what else?

More on quotation marks

Yesterday I saw a Mexican ice cream truck. Well, van actually.
On the back were stick on letters that said (this is character for character):

"WARNING"
"CHILDREN"
CROSSING

Oh is it a fake warning? Or fake children? Or by "children" is it trying to be humorous? Or maybe the words are "quoted" (haha) because thy're a warning us about children, which is a weird warning seeing as children aren't all that dangerous...
And I'm rambling now.
