It's my first blog post, please be gentle...
My name, as you've probably gathered by now, is Martin von Dach. I am an aspiring 3D Animator and I hope to one day be involved in game design. I'm currently in my 2nd year of instruction at the Centre for Arts and Technology in my hometown of Kelowna, BC.
I'm two weeks into my 3DAM 202 course, which, as you may know, is when it starts to become Serious Business. It's also when a 3D artist chooses between Animating and Modelling. After careful consideration, and a lot of thinking, I settled on Animation as the path through which I will pursue a career. The course is fairly demanding, and far more so than its previous incarnations: A drill every other day, and homework on top of it every week. What's more, we're now under mounting pressure to create content for our demo reels.
We've all been encouraged to create a blog to post our work, in various stages of completion as well as the completed product. Visitors to my blog can expect to see my first 3DAM homework assignment (a walk cycle involving only hips and legs) shortly. I may also post some 2D or Classical Animation work as well, if I deem it good enough to post on the intarwebs to be scrutinized by all and sundry.
I'm not good at ending posts like this, so let me just say I have a Blood Elf Warlock on Tortheldrin that really, really needs to get to 70. And if you don't buy that, let me just say that I have a walk cycle to make. Yeah, let's go with #2.
