In contrast with the walk cycle I did for my drill, this cycle is much slower. The character seems to be pacing along with a sort of melancholy trudge.
It's certainly better looking than my drill, mainly because after the drill, Graeme showed me the vital importance of secondary action.
The walk is certainly not perfect; I wasn't able to create the holds in the steps without almost totally scrapping the animation. At this point, there's simply no way that can happen.
That being said, I'm pretty happy with it overall, and it's certainly helped my confidence as an animator.
Next week, our drill involves a character jumping onto a box, holding, and jumping off. Sounds like "fun". As will be the norm from now on, the homework assignment for that week will be a remake of the drill.
