Brief biography

Experimental improviser, performer and digital music composer, active on the scene of Italian and European improvised music since early eighties, he has developed a distinctive tonal and expressive palette in his music now including the electronic treatment of sounds.
He has played and recorded with groups like Gruppo Contemporaneo, Takla Makan, Circadiana, Mondo Ra, Blast Unit Orchestra, M.M.&T., CrowdofOne and with many fine musicians including Barre Phillips, Filippo Monico, Edoardo Ricci, Guido Mazzon, Wolfgang Fuchs, Peter Kowald, Fabrizio Spera, Alberto Braida, Peeter Uuskyla, Peter Friis Nielsen, Biggi Vinkeloe, Giancarlo Locatelli, Ab Baars, Walter Prati, Elliott Sharp, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Steve Piccolo, Gak Sato, Matteo Pennese, Cristiano Calcagnile, Xabier Iriondo, Renato Ciunfrini, Bob Marsh, Stefano Giust and many others.
He has played in many festivals including Clusone, Sant'Arcangelo, Festivaletteratura, Controindicazioni, Europa Jazz Noci, Fringes, Pulsi, Contemporaneamente, Ah Um, Berlin Jazz, Locarno, Senza parole, Acusmatiq, Stazione di Topolò/Postaja Topolove, etc.
He had founded the Takla Improvising Group, an association involved in practising and diffusing improvised music. He has composed music for many theatrical works, films and video-installations, usually collaborates with artists, dancers, poets and video-makers and often conduces workshops and master classes on improvisation.
