Matt Flugger is a songwriter not to be missed. Well-known Canadian disc jockey Reiner Schwarz (musician
and composer, veteran of experimental radio at CHUM-FM in the late 60's, host of TVO's 70's "Night Music")
compared Matt to "a young Dylan or Leonard Cohen", remarking on the quality of his lyrics and his stage
presence.
Matt's songs are word paintings. They invite you into a world where the commonplace is elevated; where the
everyday becomes Sistine. The subjects of his songs are ennobled.
Matt's guitar playing combines American rock forms and traditional Irish rhythms. His lyrics describe
people finding each other through cities, across borders and through crime. His unique tenor quality sets
him apart; he is part choirboy and part conspiring friend with a humble vocal openness that gets into your
bones.
Matt lived in Boston, San Diego, San Antonio, Vancouver, Toronto, and Brooklyn before sticking his flag in Los Angeles.
