La Voltine Blues, now Matt Knight: In 2000/2001 I started out casually jamming in Florence, Italy (Viale Alessandro Volta) with Seitaro Mine of the Japanese Dub/Reggae group Dogggy Style! The sessions usually consisted of improvised guitar playing and home recordings of just about anything that could be found, samples of which I later used my recordings.
Since Italy I've have recording at home in Ireland and Scotland mainly veering towards an experimental sound. I still try to keep the roots of my songs lined with field recording tracks I make and home made samples recorded from within the environment around me, trains and ice have been popular of late.
Irish multi instrumentalist and good friend David Walker is due to collaborate on some new songs and plans are in place to begin recording new material around summer 08.
Under the name of La Voltine Blues (now Matt Knight) I have a few albums and demos under my belt. Feel free to get in touch if you are interested in hearing any of them in full.

" Depuis les années 30, nous entendons parler d'une autre sorte d'engagement. Depuis trop longtemps l'art n'a été qu'un ornement ou une diversion; le temps est venu pour l'artiste d'accepter ses responsabilités d'adulte et de faire de l'art une arme. L'art qui ne concourt pas au combat en détourne l'attention. "
