About Melissa:
Melissa Bell Meisenhelder was an incredible person - sweet, funny, outgoing, intelligent, and beautiful. She was the all-American girl next door, a local babysitter, an honor-roll student, and a Sunday school teacher. She studied psychology at Gordon College, a small school in Massachusetts, where she was known for her unwavering faith, her deep loyalty to family and friends, positive perspective in the face of adversity, and a fabulous ability to make people laugh.
Soon after she began college, she was diagnosed with an aggressive juvenile cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma, yet her strong and inspiring faith gave her an amazing peace in the midst of devastating circumstances. She illustrated the perfect way to successfully cope with a life-threatening illness. After a 21-month battle with this disease, she entered heaven on June 9, 2004. She was nineteen years old.
Melissa wrote extensively about God's constant grace during this time of her life. Her encouraging poems and powerful prayers are now available to delight and inspire everyone in the recently released: "Melissa's Prayer Journal" which is available to purchase from her website: www.melissameisenhelder.com
She had an incredible impact on the lives of everyone she met, and her legacy lives on today. In addition to compiling "Melissa's Prayer Journal", her mother, Janice Bell Meisenhelder-Heyn, is currently writing a book telling of Melissa's life. In June 2007, a memorial benefit will be held in Melissa's honor, with all money going to the American Cancer Society for cancer research. I said a prayer for your friends and family who I know miss you everyday. I lost my father to lung cancer in November and the grief hits at unexpected moments.

Well, if she was a Child of God, then she is definitely in a better place. And if her family and friends want to see her again, then they must make sure they become a Child of God. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. John 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. John 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. wow. this is freaky. i was just thinking today about a profile being run when someone isn't alive. strange coincidence- or is it? fascinating story though... let me know if there's anything i can do. -charlotte
