About
The Melted Rubber Humans produce music that is a fusion of late 1970's post-punk/ industrial and 1990's techno/ electronica/ ambient, with a smattering of hippie psychedelica. Their music is influenced by Gong, Kraftwerk, Faust, Aqsak Maboul, Samlas Mammas Manna, early Pink Floyd, This Heat, Throbbing Gristle, pre-pop Human League, Cabaret Voltaire, pre-pop Ultravox, Public Image, Lemon Kittens, Meredith Monk, Orbital, The Orb, Transglobal Underground, Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Daft Punk, Underworld, Fini Tribe, Fatboy Slim, Loop Guru, William Orbit & Prodigy. With such a divergent and eclectic range of influences, The Melted Rubber Humans produce a sound that is distinctive and unique. Captain Melted has been described as "an undiscovered genius" (though only by himself).
The three albums here are The Melted Rubber Humans first foray into digital music. Their sound has advanced and changed considerably since then, becoming increasingly more experimental, twisted, weird and apocalyptic.
