we are mesa verde and we play some musical songs. sometimes we play songs infront of people. it is fun. we are david mcloudman, mark francis funny man franco finnie, direct beasty man derek reid, thomas the ginger man paterson and david the only tim in the band mcglaughlin. we once were called powerbaws, this was a good name, we all liked it alot, if you want to hear it then ask one of us and we might send you a recording. we played our first show as mesa verde in august 2004 supporting yage at the barfly in glasgow, yage were dicks and never let us use their shit, we were scared, lucky the nice santo caserio boys were there to make it all okay and we played some of the all time hits including inteso sideman. when we were deciding on a name for our band finnie wanted to call us empathy for the apocolypse, if not that then he wanted to call us "the girl with one heart". to be fair these names were not very good.
we have played lots of shows since 2004 and played with some awesome bands. we dont get to play shows on merit, we play them casue there are no bands in this part of the world and our friends put on shows. we recorded a demo in 2005 with tom mitchel of allergo fame, he is a nice boy, we all like him alot, infact we like all the perth boys, they are all fun. the songs on the demo were quite poo and i recorded one song with an out of tune guitar, having an out of tune guitar is what im good at, it sounds like sex. in anycase the demo came out, we mostly gave it away to people we like. happy fun. in 2006 we recorded an ep with robin in dundee, robin is a nice boy, we liek him too but we think he should not smoke as much. amor fati sound good because teh nice boys in Avast! let us use their equipment, which was really good of them. they have the good shit, thats why they always sound awesome even in pish venues. a nice boy from leeds helped us pay to out out the ep, i cant remeber his name but his label is called "art for blind records". we appreciated that. In summer 2006 we went down to england and played some shows. we played some shows there with manda woodward and ausitort mort, basically we fg'd the fuck out of their tour and said, nae joy, we're playing too. Our friend Steve drove the vroom vroom and smoked, drank and read. steve is funny we like him too. The van was horrible and we all nearly died of heat exhaustion in the back of the van as it was cut off from the front and had no windows. But anyway, it was fun time. Oh, our friend joe came with us on tour, he is a leg-end. shedlove. when we came back we started trying to write new songs, we are dead slow at that. so yeah, we are still playing shows and writing, its all good.
