So I’m finally settled in at RISD. I got on a plane last night at 11:20 pacific time. Got off that plane at 5am in Chicago, central time. And then landed in Providence at 10:30am eastern time. I collected my bags (which I had to pay 50 bucks for, fuck you very much United) and got on a bus to downtown Providence.

You know how on a Seattle bus you’ll get one or two “crazies”? The drunks or the crack heads or the generally disheveled homeless? Well this bus was PACKED with those people. At one stop I think 15 of those people got on, it was awesome, and crazy.

When I arrived at the school they apparently thought I wasn’t going to live in a dorm for the summer. I filled out the paper incorrectly, I meant i wasn’t going to live in the dorm during the school year.

Luckily they had a room left. A single at that. But apparently it was less than desirable and they were going to give me “shared” price.

The school’s network is really weird too. I can use the wireless to browse the internet, but doing any sort of downloading of software is insanely slow. I bought an ethernet cable to try and get it a little more zippy, but apparently I need Norton Anti-Virus installed? On a mac?

Sigh, there goes 50 more dollars.
