Known to most people as "The Internet Monk," Michael Spencer is a missional thinker, communicator and writer living and working in southeastern Kentucky. He has been ministering to high school students for over 30 years in churches and schools. He currently ministers in one of the most diverse ministry settings in America, speaking over 1500 times in the last fifteen years to atheists, Buddhists, Muslims, nominal Christians and committed Christian believers from 20 countries (including communist China) and 40 states.
Since 2000 he has been the author of Internet Monk, one of the leading Christian blogs in the world. He is also the owner and moderator of the longest running Christian group blog he knows of, the infamous Boars Head Tavern. He produces the Internet Monk Radio podcast and a new podcast called Coffee Cup Apologetics.
He has been quoted in Time Magazine's September '07 cover story on Christians and wealth. He has been published in Modern Reformation and is the weekly evangelical guest on "The Catholic Guy" radio program on Sirrus radio 159, the Catholic Channel. His posts on the decline and aftermath of evangelical Christianity have been linked, quoted and read all over the world.
Michael is married to Denise and has two grown children: Noel Cordle, in Ohio and Clay, at the University of Kentucky.
