Just what it says, this is where I keep recordings of work with others. In this case, the collaborator is Norman William Long (who also goes by the name Differance Engine). The first piece that I've added is a document from one recent session and is completely improvised and unrehearsed. The basic approach was: I was processing Norman's laptop manipulations through my mixer rig. The first six or so minutes are somewhat static (not a negative comment) and things become more layered after that. Both have their appeal and both have their weaknesses. I guess it always comes down to the ability of the people in the moment to listen, respond, craft, and guide the sounds--sometimes the results will remain of interest afterwards, sometimes they'll remain merely as a record of a moment. Either way, I tend to learn something from going back and listening ... and perhaps there will be something of interest in these for other listeners too.
