Bio:
Miss Ohio has been recording and playing music in and around New York City since 2003. "Low" is the New Jersey band's 2nd full-length album. Recorded in the winter of 2007 at the Pigeon Club in Hoboken, NJ and mixed in the summer of 2007 by Eric "Roscoe" Ambel and Tim Hatfield at Cowboy Technical Studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the album is evidence of the remarkable growth that the band has experienced in recent years. Miss Ohio's sound ranges from quiet, stark arrangements to noisy pop to straight-ahead rock. Not concerned with genre or style, the band creates a sonic space which allows the creative interplay between co-guitarist Jim Kaznosky and guitarist/singer David Wilson, while bassist Pietro Lorino weaves creative lines among the understated, yet powerful playing of drummer Brandon Loikits.
"Low" explores the tensions inherent in maintaining meaningful personal relationships in the midst of a chaotic political climate. The album begins with an unnamed female narrator claiming, "When I'm face to face with my lord I'll ask him why he does the wicked things he sometimes does" before the song explodes with layers of guitar and feedback. A couple lies in bed while a war rages on the other side of the world; a man confesses "I'm sick of talking about the government". Miss Ohio has created an album that is alternately dark and optimistic; an album that finds a confident band playing smart, engaging songs.

Gagosian Liga, Feb 28, 2008:
"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
