A music producer since the late nineties, Mistadool fell in love with
drum&bass from the very first breaks. While he recorded all kinds of
albums ranging from indie-rock to hip-hop and nu-soul, he soon started
working on his own project, fashioning a sound of his own. His
eclectic musical background made him want to explore drum&bass in
unusual ways.
He was fond of mixing the fast and hectic beats of d&b with tuneful,
atmospheric, and funky sounds, surfing on the paradox of extremes. No
wonder Liquid Funk came as a revelation, and Mistadool was glad to
find his music naturally fitted the genre.
Inspired by the likes of Kubiks, London Elektricity, Logistics, DJ
Marky or Nu:Tone, he released his first official tracks in 2006, with
a remix EP on the French independent label Premiere Partie, soon
followed by releases on Black Reign Recordings (USA), and Digital Coma
Recordings (Estonia), with the brand new 'SUNNY DAY EP'. More is to
come in the next few months.
His best-known tracks include 'Too Late' (BRR) and a remix of Chup's
beautiful 'Through the sky' which was aired repeatedly on Hospital's
award-winning podcast.
You can hear DJ Mistadool's mixes on a growing number of radios,
podcasts, and venues of the new drum&bass scene.
